“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed

by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the

pursuit of Happiness.”

I believe that these United States are the result of God’s plan to cultivate a nation built upon the

truths of the Bible. Our founders left England so that they might have the freedom to worship

God without the constraints of the state church. These courageous Christians were not perfect,

and they made mistakes, but their desire for religious freedom invited the Holy Spirit of God lead

them in developing the greatest nation this world has ever known. Over the decades and

centuries, the Holy Spirit, inspired by the prayers of Christian believers has brought forth

spiritual awakenings in our land. God has had His hand upon our nation since it’s inception.

Let’s pray that He does it again!

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer.”

Great words from St. Paul for us in the good times and the times of struggle. Jesus tells us also that in this life we will have tribulation but to be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world. So…if we think everything is always going to be easy or if someone tells us if we live or believe a certain way then life will be without challenges, we will be continually disappointed. The truth is that life is tough but that there will also be times of hope and celebration. The key to living a fulfilled, contented Christian life is summed up in the last 3 words of the quote above. Being “constant in prayer” will keep us in continual fellowship with Jesus. Abiding in Him brings forth peace and as we get better at hearing His still small voice, He will lead us throughout our day.
