“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for
everyone who believes”
Why is it so difficult for so many of us to share the Good News about Jesus with people who
don’t believe yet? It is the “Power of God” to salvation for everyone who believes! We never
know what is going on in someone’s heart and how the words spoken in love may be like a
healing balm in their heart. I’m so glad for my big brother, Mike, who shared the Good News
with me as a teenager in Columbus, Ohio. It was the right time for me to hear and receive the
lifechanging message that Jesus died for me. I received that message over 50 years ago and it
is just as powerful for me today. Who is it that God is nudging you to share His love with this
week? Be open and He will give you just the right words!

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer.”
Great words from St. Paul for us in the good times and the times of struggle. Jesus tells us also that in this life we will have tribulation but to be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world. So…if we think everything is always going to be easy or if someone tells us if we live or believe a certain way then life will be without challenges, we will be continually disappointed. The truth is that life is tough but that there will also be times of hope and celebration. The key to living a fulfilled, contented Christian life is summed up in the last 3 words of the quote above. Being “constant in prayer” will keep us in continual fellowship with Jesus. Abiding in Him brings forth peace and as we get better at hearing His still small voice, He will lead us throughout our day.
