“To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;

not returning evil for evil or insult for insult but giving a blessing instead.”

Peter writes these words to the churches of Asia Minor in his first epistle (letter) about 30 years

after the resurrection of Jesus. This 2000-year-old letter seems to be relevant in the year 2026

also, wouldn’t you agree? Though relevant, this type of godly behavior is somewhat rare in our

society. Because of this rarity, when Christians behave this way, it really stands out as a

powerful witness to the transforming work of Jesus in a believer’s life. Lord, help us to return

blessing for evil or insult, so that Your name will be glorified. Amen.

God’s Blessings!

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer.”

Great words from St. Paul for us in the good times and the times of struggle. Jesus tells us also that in this life we will have tribulation but to be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world. So…if we think everything is always going to be easy or if someone tells us if we live or believe a certain way then life will be without challenges, we will be continually disappointed. The truth is that life is tough but that there will also be times of hope and celebration. The key to living a fulfilled, contented Christian life is summed up in the last 3 words of the quote above. Being “constant in prayer” will keep us in continual fellowship with Jesus. Abiding in Him brings forth peace and as we get better at hearing His still small voice, He will lead us throughout our day. By the way, if you just read this, send me an email at wakeuppc@gmail.com and I will send you a blessing!

Rejoicing in Hope,
